+To build the docs locally, you need to have docker installed.  The docs are built using a custom [docker](https://www.docker.com/)
+image and [mkdocs](http://www.mkdocs.org/).
+
+Build the `grafana/docs-base:latest` image:

+$ cd docs-base
+$ make docs-build
+```
